NIKA run #9 October 2014
Goals of the run
Test polarized observations. Test diode calibrator prototype. Test new PaKo features (see wish list). Test pipeline upgrades.
60h total, bout 8h/day. Leave the cryostat cold and ready for the scientific run (run #10, Pool #2) in November 2014 ?
- Startup and check instrument is working well; freq sweep, tune and check valid pixels. Check previous pointing model (runs #7, #8) still valid. (4h)
- Validate all sequences (pointing, focus, skydip, zigzag otf map, Lissajou map). (4h)
Test PaKo upgrades. (3h)
Commission the instrument using statistics on beam maps ==> FOV geometry, flat field for each array, detectors stability, parasitic effects such as cross-talk, plateau, oscillations and so on. (10h)
- Check the sensitivity and time estimator, using not only beam maps mentioned in 4. but also scans on other primary and secondary calibrators.(4h)
- Check the noise integration for 6 hours oriented towards deep field measurements, Establish standard faint source photometry (5h mostly high-z faint sources: 10-40 mJy).
- Perform on-sky measurements of polarization at 1 and 2 mm. Use planets, quasars, the Crab Nebula, CasA, and Orion. (30h).
Preparation of the run
October presence at Pico (Dash (-) is for travel with night in the Granada office room on !1stDayAtPico-1, and go down from Pico and travel on FinalDayAtPico+1, X is night at Pico)

* Min room requirement gives the minimal number of room required at the telescope, implying several persons can share room in case the occupancy at the telescope is such that single rooms can't be provided to all.
Presence at Grenoble, for off line data analysis
