Which pointing sources to use ? Guidelines for the observer.
IRAM 30m telescope
We recommend to use XEphem to view the sky coverage of pointing sources, using the catalogs described below. Note that XEphem also allows to plot the current telescope position, to find nearby sources.
Flux monitoring program (access only IRAM internal)
These web pages explain the ongoing flux monitoring program with EMIR and helps the observer to select bright and nearby pointing sources:
pointingIRAM30m.edb for XEphem. The size of the markers reflect their most recently observed fluxes.
- The above web page also shows plots of sources and their flux changes in time
The heterodyne pool data base (password protected) lists pointing sources and the fluxes of more than 1Jy using the MAMBO2 data from its data base.
For a list of pointing sources and secondary calibrators please visit the wiki Pointing sources and calibrators for the IRAM 30m Continuum Cameras.
A printout of the PdB calibrator list is available at the30m: phase-pdb.sou. This catalog is also included in all gildas distributions.
