NIKA2 run #1 October 2015
Goals of the run
Run organized quite rapidly, taking the opportunity of the EMIR upgrade,tu use the telescope time to continue the tests on NIKA2 started durin the run 1. Main goals:
- Characterize the instrument with the 13 NIKEL boards currently installed; this configuration was implemented and debugged only at the end of the run 1
- Many beam maps to monitor kid stability, photometry, to get statistics on these parameters and derive correct geometries, in particular for the pixels available only since the implementation of the 13 boards.
- Continue observations of many calibrators to monitor our photometry
- Map faint sources to increase accuracy of sensitivity (NEFD) determination
- More maps for statistics and data quality control
- Possibly analysis of flat field vs focus (effect of image plane focus curvature; see beams analaysis on run 1 offline processing)
- Skydips
The plan on the private wiki that was established for run 1 is still valid: http://www.iram.fr/wiki/nika2/index.php/NIKA2_Run1_30m_CharacterizationPlan
