Remote observing with the 30m telescope is now routinely possible from IRAM Granada, IRAM Grenoble, the MPIfR Bonn and the OAN Madrid (still experimental) by experienced observers. Please contact your [http://www.iram.es/IRAMES/mainWiki/AstronomerOnDutySchedule Astronomer of Duty (AoD)] and/or the Granada informatics group (Granada), Clemens Thum (Grenoble), Dirk Muders (Bonn) or Jean Francois Desmurs (Madrid) well in advance of your observations and, as a safeguard, send macros and instructions to the AoD and/or telescope operator.

Remote observing from the ENS in Paris and the OAN in Madrid will be available in the near future.

The telescope is controlled in real time very much like on Pico Veleta. The practical aspects of remote observing are described in a [https://mrt-lx1.iram.es/mainWiki/RemoteObserving concise guide].
