- to open another terminal window, click on xterm.desktop
- ssh -X mrt-lx3
- xemacs, class, greg will work on mrt-lx3
mrt-lx7 - XEphem-Terminal
- Select GNOME Windows-Manager
- login
- to start browser, click on Activities, iceweasel
- to start another teminal window, click on Activities, search, terminal
- see below on how to start XEphem
- change to mrt-lx3 if you want to use class, greg, etc. using 'ssh -X mr-lx3'
- to toggle between different working spaces use CTRL+ALT+Up/Down-Arrows

XEphem
- ssh -X mrt-lx3 ! work on mrt-lx3
- cd .xephem/
./xephem.exe & ! telescope position should already be shown
- If telescope position is not shown, type 'azElToXephem.py'
- Some tricks:
- Start automatic, regular updates of the sky display: press 'RT' next to Looping
- plot sources: Data - Files - Select Catalog
- plot visibility tracks: right click on course, create trail
- plot position of one source: Data - Index - enter name - click on Sky Point
