 * produce high-quality DAFs/RPPs and Kidpars
 * determine the optimal Z focus position and study the focus surface
 * produce new final NEFDs for total power
 * produce new final NEFDs for polarimetry (probably and likely in Autumn).
 * New sweep (run 92)
 * Preliminary check of the system on sky, getting first pointing/focus corrections
 * Produce high-quality DAFs/RPPs and Kidpars
 * Determine the optimal Z focus position and study the new focus surface per array
 * Produce new final NEFDs, at least for total power (HLS091828 and HFLS3 were the most observed fields in the re-commissioning campaign of October 2025)

Preliminaries (last update: 2026/03/17):

  • According to DJ, a new sweep is provided before the beginning of this re-commissioning week. We will proceed as usual: (i) point/focus with the old sweep (run 91), (ii) get beam maps with the new sweep (run 92), (iii) then observe with the old sweep until the new DAFs/Kidpars are ready (it usually takes few hours).
  • A correction of parameters P2 and P7 of the pointing model of NIKA2 is provided on Monday 23/3/2026 (based on the round mean of the most recent pointing corrections: ΔAz. = 4", ΔEl. = 6")
  • A complete report about the intervention of NIKA2+ for hardware adaptation to focus differences can be read here. In principle, array 1 was not touched during the NIKA2+ intervention. Similar focus corrections are expected for all three arrays.

Notes for the next (run 80) re-commissioning campaign (under construction):

  • For re-commissioning tests/observations, NIKA2 account t22 should be used.
  • If there is an opportunity to continue observations of the NIKA2 pool, or even heterodyne pool programs, use the nikaw-25 or poolw-25 accounts, respectively.

Main Goals

  • New sweep (run 92)
  • Preliminary check of the system on sky, getting first pointing/focus corrections
  • Produce high-quality DAFs/RPPs and Kidpars
  • Determine the optimal Z focus position and study the new focus surface per array
  • Produce new final NEFDs, at least for total power (HLS091828 and HFLS3 were the most observed fields in the re-commissioning campaign of October 2025)
