Goals of NIKA2 run 73 (Recommissioning, after second hardware intervention)
- it will be the NIKA2 run 73 (Cryo run 85), scheduled for June 10th-12th and June 16th-18th
- no new sweep is necessary (in principle)
- priorities:
- beam maps to produce new DAFs/kidpars with new reference KID (Ar2, central KID)
- lots of calib_1scan in polarimetry, so to characterize the NIKA2-Pol NEFD(s). Use Mars, Uranus (30 deg from the Sun), Neptune, bright QSOs
- few hours on G2 blank field
- few hours on target "Field", started in the NIKA2 run 72
- unfocused beam maps are not high priority, but good if there is time. In order to characterize the optimal focus, we can use those taken during run 72
- critical goals:
- produce new "final" DAFs, using the central KID as reference for
- in combination to run 72, derive new NEFDs, to be announced in the Winter-2025 call for proposals. For Ar2 there won't be any change. For Ar1 and Ar3, we can use the data of run 72. The different reference KID won't have a big impact. The call for proposals will be issued in early August. Therefore a draft must be sent to karl in the second half of July. The NEFDs shall be ready by then. This deadline might be tough for PIIC, hence we'll rely primarily on IDL-based NEFDs.
- produce new NIKA2-Pol NEFDs. Run 72 does not help, therefore it is paramount to take many NIKA2-Pol calib_1scan data in Run 73
- data processing:
- new DAFs are not strictly necessary immediately to run the PIIC monitor (if no new sweep is done). They are already in place. The only caveats are that: (a) box C is missing [not a big deal]; (b) the reference KID is off-center [more important issue]. This second point does not make a big difference for fluxes and NEFDs, but all data taken with these DAFs will have pointig offsets "shifted" with respect to thos taken with the central KID as reference. SB will try to produce new DAFs as soon as possible, but it depends on whether observations will be possible on June 10-12th, or not.
