NIKA run #7 Early 2014
Goals of the run
Test the final NIKA configuration on the sky with Winter conditions. Validate the pipeline. Test the polarization setup on the sky. 75h total. About 10h/day. Leave the cryostat cold and ready for the scientific run (#8) in March 2014.
- Characterization of the final NIKA prototype configuration (5h)
- Perform a new pointing model starting from the old NIKA Run6 one. (10h)
- Validate all sequences (pointing, focus, skydip, zigzag otf map, Lissajou map). (5h)
- Check the sensitivity and time estimator.(5h)
- Perform some science demonstration observations on a best effort basis: TBD: Check the noise integration for 15 hours oriented towards deep field measurements, Establish standard faint source photometry (15h mostly high-z faint sources (10-40 mJy).
- Perform on-sky measurements of polarization at 1 and 2 mm. Use quasars, the Crab Nebula, CasA, and some galactic extended sources. (20h).
