Observers and Schedule
February Telescope Schedule 24h/day Observations.
All the people who will participate to the pool run must appear in the table below; each one must use the dedicated web tool to reserve rooms in Granada and at the telescope. For those who travel on IRAM funds, Beatrice should be contacted; see the NIKA2 travel rules.
Staff of the run 19-26 March 2019: table of the nights spent at the observatory for the NIKA2 collaboration members participating to the run (T = Tuesday, S = Saturday, 1 = night scheduled at the telescope, g = night in Granada office).

Plan of the run: DAQ V3 commissioning + DAQ V1 standard pool
The 1st part of the pool (3 days) is dedicated on commissioning of the new version of the acquisition software, dubbed V3, that was used in the polarisation test run in December, but not yet validated for total power. The goal is to validate this version, doing specific test scans, and science verification, on a selected number of pool project, whose PIs are part of the NIKA2 collaboration and involved in the instrument development.
- For more information on the preparation work of this DAQ V3, in particular the documents describing the needs and V3 test plans, see the dedicated private wiki page:
https://wiki.iram.fr/wiki/nika2/index.php/AcquisitionSoftV3Check (the link is also accessible from the private wiki main page in the section "Informations pages on instrument development and software").
During this week we will use both the current old frequency parameter file and the new parameter file, so the summary plan of the pool week is:
- The test of DAQ V3 has to be done with the current old frequency sweep parameter to be consistent and comparable with all the previous runs since October 2017, done with the last frozen version of DAQ V1.
- Then the plan is to change to the new frequency parameters (a test on closed window during last run showed it was overdue, as it would allow recovering few 100s if pixels that have been lost over time during the last months), still keeping V3 for few hours, the time to get all necessary test scans, that would allow making comparisons with the old parameter setup.
- Then for the last 4 days we switch to V1, using the new frequency parameter, we'll do all the necessary calibration scans required to recover all the pixels names and positions, and finish the pool with the acquisition software consistent with previous runs, but with improved performances.
